Sidekix Friends Uplift the Soul
“The best gift you can give a child with special needs is your friendship. To include them, play with them, and believe in them.”
“Sidekix” Kids and “Sidekix” Friends get to spend time together socializing and having fun while learning to appreciate their differences! The goal of the “Sidekix” Mix is to allow all children to build lifelong friendships with each other and prove to others that just because there are differences between these friends, there are a lot of similarities too.
The “Sidekix” Mix is planned group event where children with special needs “Mix” with typically developing children to build relationships with each other through activities such as:
- creative movement
- tumble
- art
- dance
- music
- movies
- sports
- farm days
- cookouts
- and more!
The “Sidekix” Mix events will help to break down barriers between normally developing children and children with special needs! Kicking off the “Sidekix” Mix are a few group events for children with special needs and for normally developing children.
- All children with special needs should be accompanied by an adult – parent, babysitter, therapist, etc.
- All typically developing children under the age of 11 should be accompanied by adult – parent, babysitter, therapist, etc.
- Typically developing children 12 and over may attend the events without an adult.
