Programs
Sidekix Mix
“Sidekix” Kids and “Sidekix” Friends get to spend time together socializing and having fun while learning to appreciate their differences! The goal of the “Sidekix” Mix is to allow all children to build lifelong friendships with each other and prove to others that just because there are differences between these friends, there are a lot of similarities too. The “Sidekix” Mix is a planned group event where children with special needs “Mix” with typically developing children to build relationships with each other through different activities
Sidekix Matching
“Sidekix” will be matching 2-3 Typically developing children with each child with special needs. “Sidekix” will use a data base of information collected on each child matching friends of similar developmental ages, interests, and hobbies. Besides attending “Sidekix” Mix, these friends will plan at least 1 activity together as friends each month building even deeper relationships.
Sidekix Sibs
Sidekix Sibs socials are fun gatherings for children who have siblings with special needs. Just like the portrayal of the sister in the movie “Wonder,” often the siblings struggle with their own issues, insecurities, fears, etc. being a part of a special needs family. This gathering of Sidekix Sibs will give these children the opportunity to get to know other children who understand what they are going through. Sidekix Sibs will meet approximately every 2-3 months to socialize, enjoy an activity, and to have a time of sharing and support!
Sidekix Adult Support (SAS!)
“Sidekix” will be planning seminars of different topics to help the parents of Special Needs Children. “Sidekix” will have professional speakers coming in for seminars every couple of months!
Besides providing a social and fun environment for the “Sidekix” friendships to flourish, “Sidekix” wants to provide a time for the parents, caregivers, and guardians to get together to socialize and support each other. These adult friendships will be just as important!
Our Mission
With “Sidekix” our mission is to promote inclusion between children with special needs and typically developing children. By spending time together in a social and fun environment, both types of children will learn valuable and life changing lessons from each other and will build friendships that will last a lifetime!
